Improved Habitat's land management consultants can provide an easy to follow road map for the 'do it yourself' operation. For a small fee a consultant will visit you to discuss your goals. After which, an inspection of your property and perhaps a soil test from various areas will be taken. The consultant will then provide to you a written program specifically for your property.
The program will include the following:
- Recommended application of lime and fertilizer
- Recommended seed mixture to be used and at what rate
- Conventional tillage or no-till
- Herbicide use, if any
- Precise acreage per area
- Hand written map of property including recommendations for improvement
- Precise schedule of management practices to best suit your needs
- Mowing
- Fertilization
- Overseeding, if needed
- Herbicide application, if needed
- Irrigation, if needed and available
